Tim has represented many individuals facing serious criminal charges. He has extensive experience in matters before the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts, including the preparation of matters for Trial by jury and regular appearance work. Tim’s practice includes acting on behalf of clients charged with a wide spectrum of criminal offences, including major drug matters, fraud, theft, violence offences, sexual offences, driving offences, and the preparation of applications for Bail. Tim also has significant experience representing clients who are the subject of investigations & prosecutions by regulatory bodies/agenices such as WorkSafe, ASIC, the EPA, the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC), the former Office of Police Integrity (OPI) and the Australian Crime Commission (ACC).

Tim also provides advice and representation to clients in quasi-criminal areas, such as Coronial Inquests, disciplinary proceedings and Asset Confiscation proceedings.


Tim has been an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) Criminal Law Section throughout his career. He has been a member of the Section's Executive Committee since 2012 and was the Criminal Law Section Co-Chair for three years from 2014 to 2016 inclusive. Tim has represented the LIV on a number of committees, steering groups, and Court user-groups as well as providing advocacy on behalf of the legal profession through regular meetings with representatives of the Attorney-General’s Office, the Department of Justice & Regulation, and the Office of Public Prosecutions. The LIV Criminal Law Section represents the legal profession on practical, legal and policy issues affecting the criminal justice system.

In 2017 Tim was awarded the LIV Certificate of Service, an award presented by the LIV to its members in recognition of professional excellence or exceptional contributions made to the legal profession, the LIV or the community.

Tim is currently a Legal Member of the Victorian Firearms Appeals Committee, a statutory appeals body under the Firearms Act 1996 (VIC) which hears and determines reviews of certain firearms licensing decisions made by the Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police
